Links in the checkbox label
What is this for?
If you need to add a clickable link directly in the checkbox label text — for example, so the attendee can read your terms, policy, or additional information without leaving the form — use the link format in the label field. The link opens in a new browser tab.
How to add a link to a checkbox label
- In the form builder, find the «Checkbox» element or open the settings of an existing checkbox.
- In the «Label» field, type the label text and insert the link using the special format described below.
- Save your changes.
Link format
To turn text into a clickable link, write it using the following syntax:
[Link text](https://your-website.com)
Examples:
| What you type | What the attendee sees |
|---|---|
[Read the terms](https://example.com/rules) |
Read the terms (grey underline, opens in a new tab) |
[Privacy policy](https://example.com/agreement) |
Privacy policy (grey underline, opens in a new tab) |
Click here (grey underline, opens in a new tab) |
Full label text with a link:
I agree to the [privacy policy](https://example.com/agreement)
The attendee will see: I agree to the privacy policy (where the words «privacy policy» will be underlined and clickable).
Important rules and tips
The link must start with
http://orhttps://Otherwise, the system will not recognize it as a link and the text will remain plain.
Do not use spaces inside the URL If the address contains spaces, replace them with
%20. For example:https://example.com/my%20page.
The link always opens in a new tab The attendee will not leave the form page — the link loads in a separate browser tab.
Clicking the link does NOT check/uncheck the checkbox You can safely click the link without worrying that the checkbox will accidentally change its state.
The link underline changes color on hover By default, the underline is grey. When the attendee hovers over it, it turns blue, indicating that the text is clickable.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't the link work / it shows as plain text?
Make sure you wrote it in the format [text](https://address) — with square brackets for the text and parentheses for the URL. The address must begin with http:// or https://.
Can I add multiple links to a single label?
Absolutely! Just write each link using the same pattern: [text1](https://address1) and [text2](https://address2). Both will be displayed as clickable links.
Can I add a link that points to an email or a phone number?
No, the system only recognizes web addresses that start with http:// or https://. Email addresses (mailto:) or phone numbers (tel:) are not supported.
Why does the link open in a new tab instead of the current page? This is an intentional design decision. If the link opened on the current page, the attendee would lose all data entered in the form. The new tab ensures the form remains intact.
